Daniel J. Pope is a 1975 cum laude graduate of The John Marshall Law
School, a member of its Law Review, and he attended the University
of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business. Dan was a Partner and Head
of Litigation at Ungaretti & Harris, and a Senior Trial Partner at
Seyfarth, Shaw, and Bell, Boyd and Lloyd in Chicago. Since moving to
Champaign, Dan has been Lead Felony Prosecutor for Champaign County
and General Counsel for Christie Clinic, PC. He has tried many civil
and criminal cases to verdict ranging from antitrust and computer
technology to murder, professional liability and securities class
actions.
Dan has also devoted substantial time to pro bono projects including
representing all the women in Illinois prisons on behalf of the
Roger Baldwin Foundation, all the Texas death row inmates on behalf
of the ABA’s Litigation Assistance Partnership Project, and those
discriminated against in housing on behalf of the Leadership Council
For Metropolitan Open Communities. He is a past Director of Public
Interest Law Initiative and Pro Bono Advocates/ Legal Advocacy for
Women, and a current Director of the Champaign YMCA. |
